Kwaku Manu was born on March 6, 1984, in Obuasi, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Kwaku is the second of seven children; he was raised in a low-income home with four brothers and two sisters. One of his siblings, Filaman, is also a musician and an actor.
Kwaku’s educational journey came to an abrupt end when he left formal school before completing Junior High School (JHS) 2. He did this so he could assist his father and help support his younger siblings. Later on he engaged in galamsey (illegal mining) and electric welding to support his family.
