Jay Bahd was born on June 21, 1999, in Ashtown, Kumasi, Ashanti Region. He experienced his childhood in Ashtown and Dichemso. He was raised by his mom, with help from his dad, who lived in America. He was an only child by his biological parents, but his mom had five boys apart from him, so he has five half-brothers as well. At 24 years old and a native of Asante Mampong in Kumasi, the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

Jay Bahd has loved music since he was a child. He used to listen to songs by Lord Kenya and other Legendary Ghanaian musicians. He began his professional career in music in 2015. Bahd started doing hip-hop music and then was introduced to the drill music genre when he met Reggie of the Asakaa music group in Ghana. Bahd was made known to the world after Yaw Tog had him, O’kenneth, and other Asakaa musical group members in his “Sore” song, which he released in 2020. Jay Bhad’s first single, “Condemn,” ft. City Boy, O’kenneth, Reggie & Kwaku DMC, was released in November 2020 a few months after “Sore.” It was a hit song, and Jay Bhad released singles like Suzz.

Then after Asakaa, he started his next journey into drill music, and Reggie introduced him to the genre. Jay then began to create drill music along with hip-hop. After he joined the Asakaa group, he was and still is a member of the group. The group has family members City Boy, O’kenneth, Reggie, Kwaku DMC, Kawabanga and many others. Jay, with the Asakaa boys, toured different countries in Europe. They had been interviewed on BBC and other big platforms.
