Eno Barony’s story is as inspirational as her lyrics. Growing up in a religious home, she used to sing gospel songs at church. Her parents thought she would become a gospel musician. Once she started listening to rap in Junior High School in Ashaiman, she quickly fell in love with the genre.
Eno began to hone her talent at Methodist Day Senior High School, where Ghanaian musician Stay Jay discovered her and brought her into the music scene in Tema. After recording her first song, “Yefre Me Sen Eno,” at Laxio Beats’s studio in Kumasi while she was studying in tertiary school, the song became popular in the Ashanti Region. Eno’s career took off when she refixed Joey B and Sarkodie’s “Tonga,” which made her a household name nationally.
