HER EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND
Amerado Burner was born in Kumasi, where he was raised in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He is the first child and the only son of Madam Georgina and Mr. Kantanka, who died while Amerado was in high school.
He had a difficult childhood financially, but Amerado always made good enough use of his extra time to pursue his passion. Amerado attended Bethel Preparatory and JHS in Kumasi, then went on to KNUST Senior High School. He was admitted to Akrokerri College of Education but was unable to pursue it due to funding. Now Amerado is pursuing Political Science at the University of Ghana, Legon.
HIS CAREER
Amerado started his music career while in high school, performing at entertainment events. After he finished school, Amerado worked for three years at Living Waters Hospital in Kumasi, while continuing to freestyle and record at local radio stations in Kumasi.
In 2015, His big break was when he came in third place in a freestyle competition at Solid FM, which caught the attention of “Azee Ntwene,” CEO of MicBurnerz Music. Amerado was signed to MicBurnerz Music alongside Strongman, another up-and-coming star at that time.
Amerado released his first single, “I AM,” in 2017, which was later included in Pulse Ghana’s Top 10 songs of January. Later that same year he released his first EP, “Rapmare.” His career took off in 2018, when he featured in Sarkodie’s hit song “Biibi Ba,” which was nominated for Best Hip-hop song in the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

In 2020, he introduced a new epic rap series called “Yeete Nsem,” showing how creative he can be, which combines news with music and received much acclaim. In the same year, Reggie Rockstone, the godfather of hiplife, acknowledged Amerado from the list of the best rappers in Ghana. Amerado’s second EP, “Patience,” released in 2021, with collaborations from Black Sherif, Shatta Wale, Fameye, and others, reached #1 on Apple Music, Audiomack, Boomplay, and YouTube.
In 2022, Amerado created history as Kumasi’s first artist to win “the Best Rapper of the Year” award at the 3 Music Awards and Ghana Music Awards. In October of 2022, he released his debut studio album, “G.I.N.A (God Is Never Asleep),” showcasing his versatility when artists Fameye, Efya, Black Sherif, and S1mba were featured on the release.
