Bisa Kdei gained his love for music when he was fourteen years old, influenced by the music played by his father, who loved Ghanaian Highlife. His entry into Highlife music was influenced by the works of legends like Nana Kwame Ampedu, Daddy Lumba, and Dr. Paa Bobo. He first formed a group called “BISA” (Boys In Serious Action) wherein he was a rapper, before he found that he enjoyed singing more.
His big break came in 2012 when he wrote the soundtrack for the movie Azonto Ghost, which brought him a lot of attention. The success from Azonto Ghost led him to work with some other filmmakers and release his first album, Thanksgiving, in 2013. The album contained hits like Odo Carpenter, which brought him into the industry.
In 2015 he released Mansa, which was a number one hit from his second album Breakthrough. The success also helped him create his record label, Black Legendary Music.
