Biography
Mr. Drew grew up in a lively neighborhood in Dansoman, Accra, where he spent most of his early years. He grew up in a single-parent family, so his mother mainly raised him while his father was away on foreign trips. He is the oldest of the children and has always been a role model for his younger siblings. He is a mixed bag, a Ga father from Dansoman and a mother from the North of Ghana, which may play a part in his persona.
Education
Mr. Drew attended Achimota School, which is one of the foremost tier secondary schools in Ghana, where he had the opportunity to grow creatively. He then went to a school where he studied dance and made a career for himself in the Creative Arts.
Personal Life
Currently, Mr. Drew is single and does not have children, which allows him to create and develop himself and support and entertain himself.
Mr. Drew began his journey into the entertainment industry with dance. With inspirations from Slim Buster, Terry Bonchaka, Chris Brown and Michael Jackson, he sought to recreate their moves and became a popular dancer while in high school. He may have expressed some interest in music from the dance by dancing to songs that were not in his language and making mash-ups and writing songs.
In 2017 Mr. Drew entered the competition, MTN Hitmaker Season 6, and was 1st runner-up in the competition, which gave him an opportunity at a record label called Highly Spiritual Music under the noted producer, Kaywa. His first release was a single, “Gimme Love,” in 2018, which was the beginning of his music career.
In 2021 Mr. Drew released his first album, “Alpha,” which afforded him respect in the industry, collaborating with popular musicians in Ghana, some of whom were Stonebwoy, Kelvyn Boy, KiDi and Kwabena Kwabena.
