EARLY LIFE
Sista Afia was born on January 7, 1993, at Santasi Fankyenebra in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. She spent part of her childhood years in Accra and Kumasi before traveling to the United Kingdom, where she moved for her education at the age of eighteen. Sista Afia is originally from Elmina in the Central Region of Ghana and was the first of two children. The “Slay Queen” hit maker is thirty years of age.

MUSICAL JOURNEY
Sista Afia comes from a musical family. Her mother, Perpetual Duncan-Williams, was a backing vocalist for highlife music, and her father, Joe Eshun, was part of a music band in the Central Region of the country. She was involved in music by singing in church as a very young child. Although, her emergence into the industry happened in 2015 after working in a hospital in London, in the United Kingdom.
When Sista Afia was in London in 2015, her old management was looking for someone to help groom an upcoming artist, and there was no one else in mind but Ghanaian highlife musician Bisa Kdei. A meeting was arranged for Afia and Bisa Kdei when he visited London. When Bisa listened to Afia sing, he told her that she had a good voice and encouraged her to come to Ghana so they could work together.
Afia returned to Ghana in 2015 and released her first song called “Kro Kro No,” which featured Bisa Kdei in the same year. The song was written and produced by award-winning Ghanaian highlife musician Bisa Kdei. She released a song titled “Are you ready,” also written by Bisa, and then a song called “Yiwani.” Since then she has contributed to Ghanaian music with over fifteen singles and an album titled “Queen Solomon” to her name.
