Early Life and Family Background
Born on May 15, 1964 in Jamestown, Accra. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh is from a royal lineage of the Ga-Adangbe tribe. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh is the son of the late Sampson Kwadjo Tetteh, a senior court servant who was a fervent Presbyterian. His mother, Juliana Norchoe Tetteh (popularly known as Auntie Julie), was a Methodist chorister and a native of Osu, Accra. Dr. Tetteh was raised in North Kaneshie in Accra, where he experienced a part-traditional and part-Christian upbringing.
Although Dr. Tetteh had Christian influence, he experimented with Hinduism during his early years under the influence of friends. Nevertheless, Dr. Tetteh’s life changed direction at age 21 when he gave his life to Christ after meeting the late Evangelist Francis Kwasi Amoako. This change ultimately set the course of his life to follow ministry.

Dr. Lawrence Tetteh’s academic journey is as extraordinary as his spiritual journey. After primary school, Dr. Tetteh entered Odorgonno Senior High School in Accra and then acquired a scholarship to study in Hungary. During his time at the Budapest Corvinus University of Economic Sciences, he studied Economics and was a leader and introduced himself to Hungarian political and educational leaders.
